The idea of “Tasawwuf, Sufism and spiritualism “is not new to mankind. In fact, the concept of spiritualism can be found in most religions of the world. Most religions aim at helping their followers to purify and elevate them spiritually and encourage them to move away from immoral desires and activities. In Islam, human-being is combination of two realities named, body and spirit. Body is associated with earthly elements like clay, water, air and fire whereas, the spirit has originated from the breath of God: “Then when I have perfected its (visible body) and blown into its (invisible) self My Own (illumining) spirit, fall down prostrate before him (in his honour)." (Q. 38:72)
